Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin signed a seven-year, $42 million contract extension that extends through the 2027-28 season, the team announced Tuesday.
Brodin was set to enter the final season of his six-year, $25 million contract that he signed with the Wild in 2014.

The 27-year-old Swede has played in 171 consecutive games for the Wild, the longest active streak on the team.
Brodin has collected 146 points (30 goals, 116 assists) and a plus-47 rating in 555 career games since being selected by Minnesota with the 10th overall pick of the 2011 NHL Draft.
